BASEBALL TRYOUTS 2024!

Hi everyone,
It is a great time of year as baseball season is about to start! A couple notes below regarding tryouts and what to expect if you make a team.
REGISTRATION: All athletes need to be registered for baseball in order to participate in tryouts. Please go to ParentVue for the online registration system. We cannot allow you to participate if we do not have approval from the athletic office.
TRYOUT SCHEDULE: We will utilize the BHS baseball field and William Walker Turf throughout the week.
Tryouts at BHS: all drop off and pick up will be at the stadium.
Tryouts at William Walker turf: there will be a bus available to take you to the field. Pick up is between 3:30-3:45pm on the other side of the street from the annex rolling doors, next to the theatre entrance. This bus will only take you to the field. Please arrange for pick up at William Walker on Tuesday and Thursday.
MONDAY 2/26: Check in at 4pm at the BHS baseball stadium. Completed at 6:30pm
TUESDAY 2/27: At William Walker turf. Check in 4pm. Completed at 5:30pm
WEDNESDAY 2/28: At BHS Stadium. Check in 4pm. Completed at 6:30pm
THURSDAY 2/29: At William Walker turf. Check in 4pm. Completed 5:30pm
FRIDAY 3/1: At BHS Stadium. Check in 4pm. Completed 6:30pm
TRYOUT ATTIRE: Hat, baseball pants (preferably grey), belt, cleats (molded
mandatory for turf use, spikes ok for grass use), flat shoes, glove, and bat. Long sleeves are still required to be worn during outdoor drills; sweatshirts are ok, but jackets will only be allowed between drills. If you do not have any of the necessary equipment, please let us know during check in.
If you are a winter sport athlete and will be participating in playoffs for your sport, please focus on playoffs and we will organize a tryout for you once that is completed.
MANDATORY PLAYER MEETING SATURDAY MARCH 2ND: 9am @ the baseball stadium. Spring player meeting for the boys who made a team; attendance is highly encouraged for those parents as well. We will also have our annual field prep/clean up day directly after the meeting. As this is required for the boys, we could use all of the help volunteered from parents. Field prep/clean up will start around 9:30am and go until around 1pm.
SPRING BREAK: All teams will have baseball activities during the week! Practice schedules during that week will be determined by each head coach. Currently JV2 has games scheduled at the beginning of spring break, and JV/Varsity are schedule for the end of spring break.
